This sermon examines Genesis 1:26–27 to show that human beings are uniquely created in the image of God through a deliberate and intimate act of creation. Unlike the rest of creation, God personally formed man to represent Him, giving human life profound dignity and value. Because the image of God in humanity, though marred by sin, remains intact, sin—especially violence against others—is an offense God takes personally. The sermon concludes by pointing to humanity’s inability to save itself and to the hope of the gospel: salvation accomplished by Jesus Christ, the perfect image of God, and received by grace alone through faith alone.
